Hi. I’m Hana Lasell, and I’m a graphic designer and mixed-media artist based in Massachusetts.

I started my career in art education publishing, which is where I was lucky enough to get paid to learn about visual art and nurture my natural design skills. Later on I was embraced—just as I am—by my local art community, and from there I drew the strength to start my studio, Deirdre’s Daughter in 2020.

The name Deirdre’s Daughter honors my mom, who died of cancer when I was 20 years old. She was brave, outspoken, and never afraid to express her love and give out kindness everywhere she went.

Through my work I enjoy exploring the depth and breadth of the Black and Brown experience; elevating the joy, beauty, intellect, and strength of people of color whenever and however I can.
